Most people believe machinery, and technology will replace man's and woman's job in near future but I don't think it will never happen in esports industry at least. No matter how much technology develops, we have no reason to watch a computer vs a computer over human. There are many animals that run and swim faster than human being in our universe. However, we are not so impressed by their performance. Esports is not much different in that aspect. The reason why we are moved and impressed by esports is that it is human’s challenge, human’s competition, human wins and inspired by human. And we pursue it.

 

In 2016, I had a very serious accident and stayed in a hospital for a long time. However, it was quite a chance to stop struggling from everything unproductive in my life. It gave me a time to think another thing instead. Serious accident makes me realized the fact that human can die anytime. Surely, it changes beliefs and the value of one’s life. I had to ask me more fundamental questions to myself for generations coming. Here are my questions “What kinds of human resources are needed in near future” and “Now, what is the most important thing needed for the future of esports”. Established in Feb 2017, <eRDc> is still on the way to answer those questions so far.

 

from our perspective, the start of the 4th Industrial Revolution will be the development of technology, but maturity of it will include understanding of human him/herself. Let me give you an example of it. If a super computer can create 10,000 not-that-bad funny comic books within one hours, I don't think that all books will have big hits because people don’t really want those books by the time the book-making technology is created. I am very sure that people will say like this “Hey computer stop reading me and find out something extraordinary and creative things which I don't feel yet”. If a computer can create something that does not exist in this universe, it means human race will have no reason to exist.

 

We are on a journey to find answers that a computer will never provide an answer forever in our industry, esports. The latest ‘eSports and Human (or Humanities) Study’ series are the mirror that explains our industry well. We are pioneers who always try to find what people needs and the best way to execute them. We are living in the society nowadays, that people still satisfy with the combined solution of the technology and needs. However, that time will not last long. Although we are currently satisfying with the iphone services such as pretty interfaces, mp3/4, SNS, and telephone features, we will not stop there forever. 

 

In 4th industrial revolution, it is not an era anymore when a traditional type of organization performs. Top-down organizations which assign tasks unilaterally are gradually losing competitiveness. Nowadays, individuals themselves are much significant resources than their experiences or whatever know-how they have. <eRDc> is the innovative community of the people who pursue that idea. We want people who are interested in our thinking. We hope that people come to us to share insights over all subjects within our industry. Here is my favorite wisdom saying “When the time wants us, we will exist, when the time doesn’t need us, we never existed in the first place”
